Mad Town

The weekend of Dec 5th, I visited Sam in Madison, WI. I LOVED it. Madison is a charming little city with a fantastic downtown.

Sam works at Epic, and his awesome co-workers took me on a tour of the enormous, 5,300-person campus. There is a tree house - where I wrote along the door lintel, "Lillian Civantos was here". There are dragons and a rocking, ride-able banana and a slide and delicious, inexpensive lunch options.

I also bumped into a few other ND grads in the area, and grabbed coffee with Katelyn Jones of ISI.

With Sam, I explored little local stores along State Street. Splurged on beautiful, old books including The Man Without a Country, Aurora Leigh, and El Cid [in Spanish!].

Bought an ugly Christmas sweater at Ragstock:

Ate my weight in delicious Wisconsin ice cream. Went to see the movie Hugo with Sam (I thought it was so-so), and closed down the bar with 4 enormous fishbowls at Wando's.

Pretty epic weekend, overall. We also watched a ton of football because the group was mostly guys. We played trivia Thursday evening. And late one night at Adam's apartment, we watched the Honeybadger:
