Day 5:
Yesterday, we had an early-morning tour of Toledo. Some of us were a little late, but we chased the bus down eventually. Literally.
I went to a really cool local festival in the evening- today is the feast of San Antonio, patron saint of animals. To celebrate the eve, the residents of the ¨barrio¨ (neighborhood) had un alumbre, or big bonfire. They made the traditional food ¨migas¨ in a huge iron pot- essentially crumbs of dough fried with peppers, sausage, etc. and eaten with a spoon. It was actually quite good.
Afterwards enjoyed un chocolate and magdalenas (a pastry) in a cafeterÃa (that´s a bar/cafe, NOT a dining hall) with Charo and one of her friends.
