Spent an amazing weekend in Madrid, where I was able to see my beloved Maggie and had the following adventures...
1. Purchased and sampled 9 different kinds of delicious cheeses with bread and chocolate, in an outdoor picnic at the Parque del Buen Retiro.
2. Saw Picasso's Guernica at the Modern Art Museum.
3. Maggie and I powered through the Prado in two short and amazing hours.
4. Hosted an evening wine & cheese party at Madrid's Puerta del Sol, the outdoor plaza in the center of town.
5. Ate turrones, cafe, tapas, and other items of deliciousness...
6. Survived an incredibly sketchy hostel.
7. Saw Real Madrid play an incredible game against Malaga.
8. Met and had tea with some Spanish seminarians, thanks to John Kramb.
9. Attended Mass at the national cathedral, Nuestra Senora de la Almudena
10. Avoided pickpockets at the famous outdoor market, El Rastro
...and finally made it home, safe and sound.
