For British Eyes Only

I am in London.

After hours of trains, planes, and some VERY random encounters with foreigers, I arrived last night to my aunt's home. I've already snuggled with my beloved Tess and rejoiced in the company of adorable Tatiana and Andrey, my little cousins.

Within an hour, we are setting off for Oxford, home of Newton, Tolkien, Lewis, Chesterton, Newman, Carroll, Waugh, and so many others... As the airplane approached London I realized the root of my uncontainable excitement- I love studying in Spain, and chose it because it is my family's ancestral home and the root of my physical origin. But I realized something just as true: England is the ancestral home of my intellect and imagination. My inner roots are here as surely as my outer ones are in Spain. And so as the airplane landed I whispered to myself, "I am in the land of my dreams."

Maybe it's because my sister, aunt, and cousins are all here, but I feel that I am coming home.
