No, it's not sangria. Or paella. Or really any of the things I would have predicted before arriving here.
Spaniards are obsessed with ham. They eat it in everything and with everything. Bits of ham mixed in with my green vegetables. Small pieces of ham in my noodle soup. Ham and cheese sandwich (eaten with a knife and fork, mind you! Not kidding, I did that for dinner last night). Jamon iberico on bread or by itself. Ham on, under, and with any conceivable dish. There is even a famous and very popular restaurant chain in Madrid called "Museo del Jamon" (Ham Museum).
