I tried so hard to resist you.
I thought here, in Spain, I wouldn´t need you anymore. With so much to see and do, I´d forget how I´ve relied on you in the past and how I love you.
I was wrong.
These past few weeks, I´ve craved books. Today, I gave in. I got my official Spanish library card from the Biblioteca Castilla-La Mancha (regional library of Toledo) and checked out a few glorious titles from their meager English-language section. I curled up in an armchair and looked at the tower view (the library is located in the city´s famous Alcazar, or castle). I warred mentally over reading or studying for mid-terms, and settled for a combination of both.
Tonight, there will be no question. We are going to be together all night long.
Dear Books, I love you. Even in Europe I can´t live without you.
Love, Lillian
Like sister, like sister.
ReplyDeleteYou are the only person who ever comments on my blog. I truly appreciate it, but I mean really.
ReplyDeleteThe obvious conclusion? You are the only person who reads it.
=(
Not true Lilly! Your blog is awesome, and a library in a CASTLE? I'm so jealous. :)
ReplyDeleteSee if you can track down a copy of this book called "Beau Geste" by Percival Wren. It is very much in the style of the dashing honorable British adventure story we used to LOVE when we were younger. Hard to explain, but pretty much when you are reading it, it will seem very familiar and comfortable. Also the whole Trivium/Gallagher contingent is OBSESSED with it. I want to get your opinion on it because I'm not sure what to think about it. I need you to tell me how to think. :) Also at least I comment, no one comments my blog. Count your blessings! (or count your comments... hahaha)
ReplyDeleteI read it. :)
