In Just

On days like today, everyone should read E.E. Cummings' lovely poem, "in Just":

in Just-
spring when the world is mud-
luscious the little lame baloonman

whistles far and wee

and eddyandbill come
running from marbles and
piracies and it's
spring

when the world is puddle-wonderful

the queer
old baloonman whistles
far and wee
and bettyandisbel come dancing

from hop-scotch and jump-rope and

it's
spring
and
the
goat-footed

baloonMan whistles
far
and
wee

I am sitting on my tiny, pretty balcony with Maggie besides me. I just spent an action-packed and fun few days with Mum and Cathy before seeing them off this morning. More on that later. The weather here has been sunshiney all week and spring is enticingly close... And Maggie and I are about to go eat lunch.

Today is a day as Cummings described.
