For my trips to different cities, I think I´ll write a list like I did for Madrid, in no particular order.
Summary of London:
1. Visited Oxford and posed as a student, carrying a backpack and wandering in and out of buildings and past ¨No Visitors¨ signs. I viewed Keble College, Christchurch, University College, and others.
2. Attended Mass at the Oxford Oratory, where Gerard Manley Hopkins was curate, Cardinal John Henry Newman lived, and Tolkien attended Mass.
3. Ate at ¨The Eagle and Child,¨ famous meeting-place of the Inklings. Met wonderful American students who joined us there for lunch and a very fitting conversation about religion, politics, literature, and life. Later, Tess and I devoured delicious English candies from the famous chain Thornton´s. The shopgirl squealed over our cute American accents. =)
4. Attended Formal Hall with the amazing Josh Folkard, law student at University College. Formal Hall is a very fancy dinner, where students wear suits or academic gowns and you stand up for Grace. In Latin.
5. Wandered London (my favorite thing to do in foreign cities) including the Tower of London and Notting Hill/Portabello Road, with Tess and Joey Kuhn. We bought delicious gourmet cupcakes (fairy cakes) from the Hummingbird Bakery.
7. Attended Mass at Farm Street, a beautiful Catholic church, and brunch with my amazing aunt, uncle, and cousins. Later strolled to Trafalgar Square and saw the London center... also did some shopping and sampled a ¨bonoffee¨ muffin (banana muffin with a delicious soft toffee interior).
8. Saw SO MANY wonderful people who I´d been missing.... you know who you are.
9. Generally had an incredible, unforgettable weekend. Looking forward to many more.
Thanks for the shout-out!
